Numerate is a biotechnology startup located in the San Francisco Bay Area. We are developing a proprietary computational platform to revolutionize drug discovery by dramatically reducing the time and cost involved in developing life-saving drugs. We use advanced machine learning techniques, coupled with expertise in computational chemistry and molecular biology, to predict the properties of potential drugs. Our high performance cloud computing framework leverages millions of CPU hours on Amazon's cloud to search among billions of candidate drugs to select a few for laboratory evaluation. In a few weeks, we go from concept to candidates, substantially reducing the cost and time required to design new medicines.

Senior Scientist - Medicinal Chemistry

The Senior Scientist will have responsibility over small molecule design in the context of multiple therapeutic programs. The individual will be responsible for the ideation of large, diverse, patentable and synthetically accessible compound solution spaces for each project. He/she will work closely with Numerate's engineering team to build and refine predictive models, manage and/or monitor the synthesis of selected compounds and insightfully respond to computational and experimental data.

The ideal candidate for this position will have:

  • Extensive (10+ years) and productive experience in small molecule drug discovery, including distinguishing contributions to lead identification and optimization culminating in the advancement of candidates into development.
  • Truly exceptional creative skills related to the project-specific conception and elaboration of novel compounds and libraries.
