Lucio Lanza, Ph.D.

Lucio Lanza is the managing director of Lanza techVentures. Prior to founding Lanza techVentures, he was a general partner of US Venture Partners. Mr. Lanza came to the venture capital industry with more than 25 years of operating experience in the electronics industry, including engineering management at Olivetti, Chairman of the microprocessor business segment at Intel, General Manager at Daisy Systems, and CEO of EDA Systems. During his tenure at USVP, Mr. Lanza was also chief strategist and in charge of the M&A activity for Cadence Design System from 1990-1995. Mr. Lanza served on the board of directors of Artisan Components, Inc. beginning in 1996, becoming Chairman in 1997, and continuing through its acquisition by ARM Holdings, Ltd. in December 2004. He is currently a non-executive director of ARM, and serves on the board of directors of PDF Solutions as well as of several private companies, including Forte Design Systems. He holds a doctorate in electronic engineering from Politecnico of Milano (Italy).
